I. Information about the processing of your data according to Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

1. Controller

2. Data processed for the provision of the website and the creation of log files

a. Which data is processed for what purpose?

Every time content from the website is accessed, temporary data is stored that may allow for identification. The following data is collected:

- Date and time of access

- IP address

- Hostname of the accessing computer

- Website from which the website was accessed

- Websites accessed via the website

- Page visited on our website

- Message indicating whether the retrieval was successful

- Amount of data transmitted

- Information about the browser type and version used

- Operating system

The temporary storage of data is necessary for the duration of a website visit to enable the delivery of the website. Further storage in log files takes place to ensure the functionality of the website and the security of the information technology systems. In these purposes lies our legitimate interest in data processing.

b. On what legal basis is this data processed?

The data is processed based on Art. 6 para. 1 letter f GDPR.

d. How long is the data stored?

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose of its collection. In the case of providing the website, this is the case when the respective session is ended. The log files are retained directly and exclusively accessible to administrators. Afterwards, they are only indirectly available through the reconstruction of backup tapes and will be deleted permanently.

3. Rights of the data subjects

a. Right to access

You can request information under Art. 15 GDPR about your personal data that we process.

b. Right to object:

You have the right to object for specific reasons (see under point II).

c. Right to rectification

If the information concerning you is not (any longer) accurate, you may request a rectification under Art. 16 GDPR. If your data is incomplete, you may request a completion.

d. Right to deletion

You can request the deletion of your personal data under Art. 17 GDPR.

e. Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request a restriction of the processing of your personal data under Art. 18 GDPR.

f. Right to complain

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates data protection law, you have the right under Art. 77 para. 1 GDPR to complain to a data protection supervisory authority of your choice. This includes the data protection supervisory authority responsible for the controller: State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia.

g. Right to data portability

In the event that the conditions of Art. 20 para. 1 GDPR are met, you have the right to have data that we process automatically based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or to third parties. The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of log files is essential for the operation of the website. They therefore do not rely on consent under Art. 6 para. 1 letter a GDPR or on a contract under Art. 6 para. 1 letter b GDPR but are justified under Art. 6 para. 1 letter f GDPR. The conditions of Art. 20 para. 1 GDPR are thus not fulfilled in this respect.

II. Right to object in accordance with Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR

You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, against the processing of your personal data carried out under Article 6 para. 1 letter f GDPR. The controller will then no longer process the personal data unless he can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights, and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of log files is essential for the operation of the website.
Use of Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of the website. The data obtained is used to optimize our website as well as advertising measures. 

Google Analytics is provided to us by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google processes the data on the usage of the website on our behalf and is contractually obliged to take measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the processed data.

During your visit to the website, among other things, the following data is transmitted to Google:

  • Pages viewed

  • Orders including revenue and ordered products

  • Achievement of "website goals" (e.g., contact inquiries and newsletter registrations)

  • Your behavior on the pages (for example, duration of stay, clicks, scroll depth)

  • Your approximate location (country and city)

  • Your Internet address (IP address)

  • Technical information such as browser, internet provider, device, and screen resolution

  • Source of your visit (i.e., the website or advertising medium you came from)

  • A randomly generated user ID

No personal data such as name, address, or contact details is transmitted to Google Analytics.

This data is transmitted to servers of Google in the USA. We would like to point out that in the USA the same level of data protection as within the EU cannot be guaranteed. 

Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for a duration of two years since your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly generated user ID, which allows you to be recognized during future visits to the website.

The recorded data is stored together with the randomly generated user ID, enabling the evaluation of pseudonymous user profiles. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data is stored in aggregated form indefinitely.

If you do not agree with the collection, you can prevent it by installing the browser add-on for deactivating Google Analytics once or by rejecting the cookies via our cookie settings dialog.
